Being a mentor for DREAMChasers is an incredibly rewarding experience where a little time can go a long way. Students are always excited the relationships they develop with the mentors and what they learn from their different experiences.

Open Position — Educational Grant Writing

Position Summary

We are actively seeking a DREAM Educational Grant Fellow to help grow our resources to creating greater eeducational empowerment for Black and Latinx youth! We are looking for someone to lead the grant making process. You will perform and be accountable for grantmaking activities, including reviewing and analyzing proposals, writing recommendations for funding and monitoring overall grant performance and building out a national and local grant and program strategy. As a DREAM Educational Grant Fellow, you will also serve as the primary contact with grantees. Fellows will report to the Program Director, and actively partner with the Communications, Mentor, and Fundraising Chairs. Is this something you are passionate about and want to build with us? Major Responsibility

·        Monitor and implement grantmaking activities, policies and procedures.

·        Develop and closely monitor grantmaking database ensuring compliance.

·        Coordinate and lead data management and oversee integrity through reporting.

·        Standardize process, communicate requirements, and implement procedures.

·        Build grant proposals that adhere to the overall mission and follow funding guidelines.

·        Develop positive relationships with local organizations to support grantmaking efforts.

Required Skills/Knowledge

·        Love for childhood education and understanding of issues facing urban populations

·        Ability to collaborate with boards of charitable organizations and leadership.

·        Outstanding interpersonal skills to articulate purpose and persuade an audience for gifting.

·        Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and organizational and political agility.

·        Innovator and idealist with ability to foster a diverse environment.
